Marisa Jackson

Marisa is an IT Project Manager for Business Operational Concepts.  She chose to serve with the Grove City Area United Way because her family believes in the quote from Muhammad Ali, "Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth."  Modeling that in her own life and through the actions of her household is something she is very passionate about.

Marisa is also passionate about activism for marginalized communities and advocating for resources for individuals in need of mental health services as well as those requiring services for intellectual disabilities.  In addition to her service on the GCAUW board, she also serves on the Mercer County Mental Health and Intellectual Disability Advisory Board and participates with Mercer County Unit 2273 of the NAACP.

Marisa's hobbies are baking and decorating sugar cookies as well as traveling and enjoying time with family and friends.  She is married to Dr. Dallas Jackson, associate professor at Slippery Rock University and they have two children.  The Jackson family lives in Grove City but moved to Pennsylvania from Texas in 2009.   Her family has appreciated seeing the growth in community involvement in Grove City and are happy to be a part of its continued progress.
