Big Rail Chili Cook-Off

Join us on Sunday, December 6th from 2 - 5 p.m. for an afternoon of chili & music at Big Rail Brewing & help us reach our campaign goal.  Proceeds will benefit the Grove City Area United Way Annual Campaign.

Contestants

Do you make award-winning chili?  Bring it on and let our tasters decide!
Contestant entry fee:  $25. Deadline to enter: Wednesday, December 2nd.

For contestants, the following is required:

• Set up between 10 am - 1 pm on Sunday, December 6th
• A name for your chili - be creative!
• Please be prepared to share your ingredient list for those who may have dietary restrictions
• Someone to serve your creation
• Serving and heating equipment, i.e. crock pots & serving utensils (we recommend an 8 qt. crockpot)
• Garnishes to accompany your chili at your own discretion
• Anything you need for cleanup
• Your chili must be cooked and preferably still warm prior to arrival.  During cooking process, chili must be kept at 170° for at least one hour, and please maintain a serving temperature of 140°F

GCAUW & Big Rail will provide the following:

• Power for crock pots (however it would help if you can bring a self-contained heat source such as a Sterno or small propane burner)
• Tasting cups, spoons & napkins for tasters
• Crackers
• Online voting
• Signage with your chili’s number
• Table & table covering

Tasters

Tasting ticket fee: $10.  Tasting begins at 2 pm.

As a taster you will receive:

• All the chili samples your heart desires
• Crackers to cleanse your palate between chilis
• Voting for your favorite chilis
• Purchase a bowl of any chili for $5 after voting is completed
• Taster tickets will also be available the day of the event

Sponsors

With a $100 contribution, your sponsorship will be used to promote the Chili Cook-Off and to purchase any necessary supplies for our chili contestants.

As an event sponsor, you will receive:

• Your name and/or logo in press releases and on our social media
• Your name and/or logo displayed during the Chili Cook-Off
• Recognition in the Grove City Area United Way Annual Report
• 2 Free Taster tickets ($20 value)!
